Did you know that most of the muesli bars available in the supermarkets contain more than 18% is sugar? Some contain up to 31% of sugar! And sometimes the sugar doesn't even come from natural dried fruits but simply added refined sugar.
This is my recipe of muesli bars. If you want to know more about muesli bars, you can read my article : Are muesli bars healthy?
125g raw rolled oats
70g raw almonds
130g pumpkin seeds,
70g sunflower seeds
20g sesame seeds
30ml malted rice syrup or raw honey
20g dark chocolate - small chunks (optional)
30ml coconut oil
50ml coconut water
Roast your oats on a baking paper in the oven for 5 minutes on 180°. Set aside in a bowl. This step is optional but I like having them roasted!
In a food processor, place the almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and roughly mix them. Blend it a couple of times for 10 seconds. Scrap the bowl if required. Remove from the food processor and add the bowl of oats. Reserve in the bowl.
Place the dates and coconut water in the food processor and blend them until smooth.
Add the date mixture to the oats and nuts.
Add the sesame seeds and chocolate chunks (optional). Stir until well combined.
Using the same baking paper, place it on a wood board and flatten the mixture using the back of a spoon.
