Summer is the perfect weather to make and drink a kiwi, orange, strawberries, and banana smoothie! This smoothie is the perfect combination to have your intake of fruits for the day but also have lots of nutrients and vitamins! Kiwis are high in vitamins C and E, magnesium and potassium!
Two kiwifruits have 30mg of magnesium which boosts energy levels and is very important to have nice and strong muscle (this is how I explain to my kids I admit!) :)
Bananas are rich in a fiber called pectin and can moderate blood sugar levels after eating your meal :)
Orange is as you may already know an excellent source of vitamin C but do you know that vitamin C prevents the free radical damage?
Therefore this is why it is associated with a reduced risk of colon cancer.
So it is not just good for your immune system ...well enough talk! You can make one and just enjoy as it tastes delicious :)
This recipe will make one large smoothie glass and a small one.
2 oranges – 200 ml (when freshly juiced)
200 ml of water
2 kiwis, in chuncks, keep one slice to serve (optional)
2 large strawberries, plus one to serve (optional)
Juice the oranges: Cut each orange in half. Squeeze the orange using a plain juicer and add it to the blender. Repeat the same operation for the 4 orange halves.
Add the rest of the fruits and water in the blender. Blend until desired consistency is reached.
You can add more water if you don't like when it is too thick.
Serve in glasses and decorate with kiwi, banana and strawberries
