Hummus is a chickpea dip coming from Middle East. It is so easy and quick to make, and it tastes much better than the commercialised dips you can find in the supermarkets. It is a perfect homemade dip to use with crackers and raw vegetables such as carrots, celery or cucumbers.
240g chickpeas (1 can)
2 small garlic cloves
2 tbsp tahini
60ml lemon juice
1 tbsp cumin
4 tbsp olive oil
Coriander or parsley to serve
Place the chickpeas, garlic, tahini and cumin in a the blender and process for 30 seconds to 1 minute on medium to high speed.
Scrape the sides and bottoms with a spatula and process again for 30 seconds.
Then add the olive oil and lemon juice and process again for 30 seconds or until well combined.
Serve in a small bowl with coriander or parsley leaves.
